Meet Hannah

I’m based in the beautiful city of Jamaica Plain, right next to Boston. I grew up in North Andover, MA, and enjoy summers in Maine by the lake in Belgrade. I’m a New Englander at heart and obsess over all the summer flower fields and vibrant autumn leaves.

I graduated from RISD (Rhode Island School of Design) in Providence in the spring of 2021 with a BFA in Photography. I learned everything from the lighting studio, historical photographic processes, and how to sequence my own fine art photography book. I fell in love with Rome when studying abroad on the highly regarded European Honors Program within steps of the Vatican. I will always have the travel bug, so take me with you on your dream elopement!

Sustainability

As a plant-based environmentalist, sustainability is at the core of my business. All communication as well as your final images are delivered digitally in a personalized album, prints are made upon request & packaged with biodegradable materials. Additionally, all of my equipment has been purchased secondhand. Please reach out & let me know if you value this approach & want to learn more.

What makes good photos?

Clothing

If you're thinking of investing in a photo session, one element you have the most control over is what you wear. Because clothes can make or break the mood, dress up but make sure you still feel yourself. Try picking out a patterned dress or blouse for one person. Then use the colors in that pattern to pick clothes for the remaining members. Check out the bottom of my FAQ section for more information on choosing outfits for your family.

Location

Picking out the right location has gotten more tricky with the pandemic, but ideally, you want a place with multiple "spots" we can use as a backdrop, for example, flowers, trees, tall grass, and a bench. If not, it's hard for me to add some variety to your photos. When you can help it, a place that you or I am familiar with is the best. Location becomes even more critical when you're thinking about bringing your furry friend to your family session. Are dogs allowed? How busy will it be? Is it public or private?

Comfort

With comfort comes trust between your family and me, and love between you and your family members. While both are feelings built over time, they are crucial for your photos to appear relaxed and happy. I want to see the love between you and your kids or your partner! The more hugs and kisses, the better. I want you to smile every time you look at the framed photo above your fireplace and think of what a fun time we had capturing that moment together

Hannah captured our family in such a beautiful way.
We hired Hannah for a family photo session celebrating our daughter’s first birthday and we could not be more thrilled with the images. Hannah was incredibly easy to work with, from booking to the photoshoot day to receiving the final images. I look forward to the next occasion to work with Hannah.
